School Sports Funding

Sports Premium

Primary schools in England receive the PE and Sports Premium funding to enhance the quality of physical education and encourage all children to participate in sport and physical activity. This funding is ring-fenced and must be used specifically to improve PE and sport provision.

At Sandfield Close Primary School, we allocate this funding strategically to benefit our pupils by:

  • Improving the quality of PE lessons through staff training and development;
  • Providing access to specialist coaching and external sports providers to broaden skills and experiences;
  • Offering a wider range of extracurricular sports clubs and activities to encourage active lifestyles;
  • Organising competitive opportunities and events both within school and with other schools;
  • Investing in sports equipment and resources to enhance PE lessons and activities;
  • Promoting physical wellbeing and healthy habits across the school community.

We are committed to using the Sports Premium funding to support all children in developing confidence, enjoyment, and skills in sport, helping to inspire a lifelong love of physical activity.
