Curriculum

At Sandfield Close Primary School, our curriculum is at the heart of everything we do. It is designed to equip all pupils with the knowledge, values, and behaviours that will help them grow into confident, compassionate, and successful individuals.

We are committed to developing each child’s cultural capital—the knowledge and understanding of the world, the arts, and the values that shape modern society. Our curriculum ensures that every child has access to the very best that has been thought, said, and created, with the goal of inspiring a lifelong love of learning.

Our curriculum is shaped by our core values and our commitment to inclusion, equity, and opportunity:

  • We are Responsible
  • We are Respectful
  • We are Resilient
  • We are Resourceful

These values guide how we approach teaching and learning, as well as how we work together as a school community. They form the foundation for everything we do and are embedded in every aspect of school life.

At Sandfield Close, we ensure that all pupils, regardless of their background or needs, have equal access to a high-quality education. We teach pupils together as much as possible, creating a sense of belonging and encouraging collaboration. Children with SEND are fully supported, and we work to ensure they can engage meaningfully with the curriculum alongside their peers.

In line with the Equality Act 2010 and the SEND Regulations 2014, we are committed to ensuring our curriculum is accessible to all pupils. You can find more information about this in our Accessibility Plan, available in the policies section of our website.

We are proud to prepare our pupils to become responsible, respectful, resilient, and resourceful citizens who are ready to make a positive contribution to the world.
