Childrens Learning

Hello parents and carers. With the closure of schools due to the Covid-19 virus, we have endeavoured to put together a comprehensive list of activities that can support children’s learning at home and these can be accessed through the headings in the column in red called ‘in this section’ on this page.

We have created a sample timetable for each year group to help you create a possible structure to your day. Please remember that there needs to be a balance of on-screen, off-screen, and physical activities through the day and plenty of opportunities for children to talk with you. These sample timetables can be found in the column in red called ‘in this section’ on this page.

The timetables are a suggested guidance only; please feel free to design one with your child/children. The timetables can be found in the column in red called ‘in this section', and then select the year group your child is in.

As of Monday 20th APril 2020, Google Classroom was set up for all parents to join so that children can access teaching and learning from their class teacher in a virtual classroom.

On april 2nd, all parents were invited to access maths no problem books to support learning maths at home.

At Sandfield Close Primary School we use a range of materials to support learning that can be accessed online.

Please find in the red column called 'in the section' on this page the various websites we recommended parents and carers to use with their child to practise learning. When parents and carers use the websites with their child, it provides a good opportunity for talk, to share their understanding and to talk about using the internet safely with their parental permission.

Sandfield Close Primary School have bought access to MyMaths and Tackling Tables.

The remaining websites that we are sharing are good for practising various skills learnt at school.
