Ogden Trust STEM Visit
We're all made of ATOMS - tiny bits of stuff, but what is in an atom?
Judith Green , from the Ogden Trust, visited Year 5 to teach a master class on Particle Physics. This is part of our Royal Society Project ' How many stars in the sky? From Microscopic to Telescopic' this was the microscopic part.
We learnt about what an atom was and then we tried to find out what was inside an atom looking at quarks. For every quark there is an anti quark and we had fun creating and making them. No one really knows what they look like, not even the scientists at CERN in Switzerland so whatever we created could be correct. Thanks to Judith for a great session and creating an interest and curiosity in science.
