Sharing what we grow with parents in Y4
Celebrating 'International week' with parents in Year 4
Year 4 had our Coffee afternoon today on Thursday the 27th June 2019.
We decided to raise money for the NSPCC as we had been learning about this charity in our assembly last week.
We combined our learning on Mexico with international week by getting the children to prepare a salad for some healthy wraps and some nachos for the afternoon. We used salad that had been growing on the school grounds and the children had a great time harvesting it with scissors.
The children thoroughly enjoyed cutting up the vegetables and preparing the food for the afternoon. They also made their own word searches that were linked to their country of Mexico for the week and they made word searches that were linked to their Literacy topic on dinosaurs.
Overall, it was a great turn out and the parents really enjoyed the delicious healthy options of food available for them all to eat. We raised approximately £55 towards our chosen charity of the NSPCC.
Thank you to everyone who attended our coffee afternoon!
